Black College Fair and Career Fair
In order to introduce high school students to the opportunities at the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the military academies, other select colleges and community agencies the Black Achievers YMCA annually hosts a college Fair. The fair is traditionally held in mid October each year.
Admissions counselors and representatives are available from the attending colleges:
- To inform students about the educational opportunities available at HBCUs and the other attending colleges
- To provide information to students on financial aide, scholarship programs and college admissions requirements
- To advise student about local community resources available for college planning
There is an additional career component to this fair. Professionals from local companies are available as industry representatives. The career component is not recruitment, it is an introduction and discuss about the careers within the represented industry and the educational and training required to enter these careers.
Cost: Free
Please consult your local high school college counselor to plan for attendance or call the Black Achievers YMCA.
