Total Control
Designed by gynecologists and medically-based, the Total Control program is a total body, no-impact workout for women of all ages to improve flexibility and strength, improve bladder control and increase your odds of a good night's rest.
The program focuses on three important muscle groups that make up the Pelvic Pyramid - the transverse abdominals, multifidus and pelvic floor.
Ideal for new mothers whose pelvic muscles may become stretched or weakened by labor and delivery and for women who suffer from baldder control issues such as frequent urges, leaking or stess incontinence. In addition, women report a decreased feeling of urgency, enabling participants to sleep through the night and wake up refreshed. Many participants experience an increase in sexual pleasure as a result of strengthening and toning the muscles of the pelvic floor.
As part of our new medically-based wellness initiative, the Charles River YMCA is pleased to offer the Total Control Program. This total body fitness class emphasizes strengthening the pelvic core and achieving fitness from the inside out. This non-impact program is designed for women of all ages to promote bladder health as well as improve flexibilty, posture and core strength. This introductory class will be for 6 weeks and will give you the tools to take with you the knowledge you need for total control as well as take home materials.
Being offered Thursday from 10-11am.
