Membership Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your membership at any time. Credit card and bank draft accounts require a 30-day written notice to the Membership Office. See a Member Service Representative for further details.
Member Referral Program
YMCA of Greater Boston members will receive one free month of membership when referring a friend who joins and stays. Please speak with a Member Service Representative for more information.

Membership Policies
In order to ensure the that all of our members are able to use and enjoy our facilities and programs comfortably and conveniently, the YMCA of Greater Boston reserves the right to terminate your membership on account of any violation of any rule or regulation or inappropriate behavior toward any member, user, or employee. The member understands that such judgments will be made by the YMCA in its sole and absolute discretion.
Membership cards must be presented each time you enter a YMCA facility. Replacement cards cost $5.00.
Violation of membership policies and privileges may result in the suspension or termination of membership.
Memberships are non-transferable to another person. Membership cards may not be used by anyone other than the person named on the card.
EFT memberships may be put on hold up to three-months in a one-year period. This request is to be done in writing 15 days in advance. Forms are available at the Membership Desk.
Children age 12 and under are to be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the YMCA unless participating in a supervised program.
Please do not bring any valuables to the YMCA. The YMCA of Greater Boston is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Cellular Phone and PDA Policy
The use of cell and PDA cell phones are permitted in designated areas only. Please refrain from using your phones in the YMCA locker rooms and changing areas. This policy follows current trends and recommendations from the YMCA of the USA.
Guest Privileges
YMCA facilities are provided for the use of YMCA members. Guests must purchase a pass to use the facilities. All guests 18 and over must present a valid photo ID.
AWAY Policy
The YMCA of Greater Boston participates in the AWAY (Always Welcome At YMCAs) program that allows YMCA members traveling outside of their Association to utilize other YMCA facilities across the country with a current YMCA membership. A reduced guest fee may apply, so consult the facility you are visiting to find out what policies and guidelines they have for the AWAY Program.
Class Cancellation & Program Credit Policy
The YMCA reserves the right to make schedule changes to better serve our members or to combine/cancel classes due to low enrollment. If the YMCA chooses to cancel a class, participants will be issued a credit or cash refund in full.
Classes missed by participants due to personal reasons will not be credited or refunded except when accompanied by a doctor's note. Requests for program credits that are made after the first class will be issued; however, credits will not issued beyond the second class. Credits will be issued for the cost of the cancelled program.
