Waltham - Lifeguards and Swim Instructors, Part Time

The Waltham YMCA is seeking friendly and responsible part-time SWIM INSTRUCTORS and CERTIFIED LIFEGUARDS. Come work at a warm, community-oriented branch with a great employee and volunteer team and membership.

LIFEGUARD candidates must have current certifications in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid. Having certifications in AED for the Professional Rescuer and Oxygen Administrations is helpful, but must be willing to get certified within 1 (one) month of employment (employer will help in receiving certification). All qualified candidates must past a pre-employment swim test consisting of a 500 yard swim, treading water for 2 minutes with legs only and recovering a 10 lb. object off the bottom of the pool.

SWIM INSTRUCTORS should have experience teaching swim lesson and enjoy working with people, especially children, as many lesson opportunities are with children. Must be 16 years of age. Must hold current or be able to obtain Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, CPR and oxygen certifications .

Pay is $9.00 to $11.00 per hour depending on shift and position. More for morning pool openers or specialized instructors.

Job Schedule - Flexible hours available every day; hours vary according to program and lesson type.
