Wang - Toddler Teacher, Part Time

The Wang YMCA in Chinatown is looking for TWO warm, dedicated and responsible individuals to join its child care team. We are looking for a full-time preschool teacher and a part time toddler teacher. This is a diverse and active YMCA located on the Orange Line.

A YMCA child care teacher plans and implements classroom curriculum, maintains children's records, communicates information to parents, and maintains a safe, healthy, warm, engaging, and attractive environment. Age appropriate activities should provide for growth in skill, self-awareness, group relations, and character development. By conducting themselves in a caring, responsible, honest, and respectful manner, the Teacher is a role model for children and adults.

Required skills and qualifications for this position are:

1. Must have an associates degree or higher in early childhood education.
2. Have a card issued by the Office of Child Care Services documenting qualifications.
3. Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
4. Must have skills in working with families
5. Knowledge of group process - must agree to work in harmony with other staff.
6. Must be committed to the philosophy and goals of the YMCA.
7. Must possess effective leadership skills and crisis management skills.
8. Must possess and utilize excellent organizational skills.
