Oak Square - Welcome Center Representative, part time
The Oak Square YMCA in Brighton is lookling for a part time Welcome Center Representative. Many shifts and hours available: early mornings, days, evenings and weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will represent the YMCA personally, professionally and in a manner in accordance with the mission and goals of the YMCA. The Membership Services and Sales Representative will be responsible for collecting daily passes, membership and program sales, telephone handling, regulating lobby traffic, provide all membership and program information, knowing policies and procedures as well as implementing them. Staff should also be knowledgeable in membership promotions, special events and the computer software. In keeping with the YMCA's emphasis on Character Development, staff should conduct themselves in a CARING, HONEST, RESPECTFUL, and RESPONSIBLE manner.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES:
1. Provide excellent member service by exceeding member expectations.
2. Create a welcoming and friendly environment for all members, guests and program participants.
3. Provide membership and program information and requirements in an accurate, friendly and courteous manner, both in person and over the phone.
4. Be thoroughly familiar with the specific memberships, classes and programs offered by the YMCA, utilizing the brochure and all other reference tools.
5. Complete all membership related paperwork, registrations and other miscellaneous services, accurately and efficiently.
6. Accurately process camp, program registrations, cash receipts, and issuance of the correct class information.
7. Take responsibility for cash balance, receipts, and following all cash receipts procedures as outlines.
8. Present a professional manner through a neat and clean appearance and proper attire (See Dress Code for requirements)
9. Maintain an orderly and neat workspace during your shift and when you're leaving.
10. Arrive on time for all shifts and be responsible for finding coverage if you cannot make a shift.
11. Fulfill office duties (i.e. filing, card processing, etc) as assigned by supervisor or recognized as necessary.
12. Document all incidents and accidents and give report to Branch Executive or Associate Executive.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES/KNOW HOW:
- Understand the relationship of the general public to the association, of staff to volunteer, and of staff to staff, and be able to effectively enhance and cultivate those relationships.
- Ability to interpret, carry out and implement into membership and programs, the mission and goals of the YMCA.
- Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children alike.
