Waltham - Membership/Marketing Director

The Waltham YMCA is looking for an energetic, personable, well-organized and service-oriented Membership/Marketing Director.

Position Description:

This position is primarily responsible for all membership operations and the membership budget, under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director. Additional responsibilities include development and implementation of annual marketing plans, creation of effective external marketing for membership and programs, and coordination of public relations with program directors to ensure a weekly presence in local papers. This position designs and implements a membership sales and retention campaign, as well as oversees special events related to member services and promotion. This position also designs/implements systems for tours, sales, retention and member engagement and recognition, as well as monitoring and reporting key membership trends (revenue, sales, retention rate, tours, growth, and key statistics). Finally, this position is responsible for supervision of the Membership Coordinator whose primarily responsibilities, amongst others, includes hiring, training, and supervising all service center staff. Scheduling and ample coverage is a key ingredient for our YMCA.

Qualities needed for this position are:

• Customer service, administrative, organizational and supervisory experience with strong interpersonal skills, including listening and member engagement skills

• Creative mind needed for marketing programs.
• Marketing/promotional skills.
• Fiscal management skills.
• Ability to be versatile.
• Computer competent, including AS400, all Microsoft Office programs.

Required qualifications and/or certifications needed for this position are:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
• One to three years experience in marketing or sales.
