Position Title: Gymnastic/Dance Instructor
Position Type: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Gymnastic/Dance Instructor is responsible for creating a fun and supportive atmosphere for children while teaching beginner to advanced skills.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES:
1. Provide excellent member service by exceeding member expectations.
2. Engage in active listening with members in order to build relationships, understand individual's goals and interests, and take the initiative to assist in the achievement of those goals.
3. Implement age appropriate activities.
4. Keep children safe during class by implementing the discipline policy and using appropriate spotting techniques.
5. Responsible for teaching classes up to 15 children.
6. Uphold a positive self-image and role model for children.
7. Implement appropriate lesson plans and warm up activities.
8. Set up and take down gymnastics equipment.
9. Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.
10. Remain current in required and voluntary training in order to promote growth of mind and spirit and character values for all.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience coaching and/or teaching gymnastics/dance.
• CPR and First Aid
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES/KNOW HOW:
• Ability to interact well with parents and children.
• Ability to teach gymnastics and dance skills progressively.
• Ability to spot safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow and teach routines.
REQUIRED TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Child Abuse Prevention
• Respect in the Workplace
• CPR and First Aid
