Waltham - Teen Night Facilitator, part time
Every Friday night the Waltham Family YMCA hosts Teen Night, a fun, safe place for teens to hang out, play sports, swim, and have a blast. We are currently looking for additional staff to serve as role-models and supervisors for teen night activities.
Teen Night staff are expected to:
-Actively engage with the teens! This is not a 'sit and watch' type of job! We play games of basketball, dodgeball, and more. Even when not playing a game, staff are expected to stay verbally engaged with the group.
-Role-model appropriate, accepted behavior. If the teens aren't allowed to do it, neither are we! There are, of course, plenty of fun things that we can all do together.
-Be comfortable giving respectful verbal corrections. Most of our youth have few or no problems with behavior, but when something comes up, staff are expected to feel comfortable letting a teen know that the behavior is inappropriate, why it's inappropriate, and what the options are for moving forward.
Required Qualifications:
Lead Teen Night facilitators must be over 21.
Asst. Teen Night Facilitators must be over 18.
CPR and First Aid are required, and we can help get you certified if you're not already.
Experience with group work, team building, and teen youth groups is a huge plus.
