Lifeguarding & Aquatics Careers
The YMCA of Greater Boston is always looking qualified, enthusiastic people for its indoor and outdoor pools and aquatics programs. We provide opportunities to teach swim lessons, to coach swimming or to lifeguard. We also are the area leader in employing career-minded aquatic professions including branch aquatic directors and coordinators. We understand the importance of water safety, the life-long enjoyment of swimming, and the day to day challege of managing a successful aquatics program.
About Lifeguarding at the Y
The minimum requirements to become a lifeguard at the YMCA are as follows:
- Hold current certifications YMCA Lifeguarding or its equivalent.
- Have skills in accident prevention, decision making, and rescue in order to ensure a safe environment for members.
- Develop and foster a family atmosphere by participating with members in an enthusiastic courteous and friendly manner.
